Prostheses replace a body part missing from an amputation on the lower and upper extremities. A prosthesis allows those affected to return to their usual everyday life and to be as independent as possible.

We aim at best, both functionally and cosmetically, solution. The technical possibilities are already advanced today: By using the most modern electronics, prostheses are already very close to the human bodily functions. Prostheses are always made to measure and according to personal needs. Depending on the age and mobility of the affected, the success of a prosthetic restoration is always based on a good cooperation of all specialists involved.

A good interaction of the entire care team but also the private support by relatives has a decisive influence on the quick return to the familiar environment.

After lower leg amputations (transtibial amputation) different prosthetic constructions are used.

Significant differences exist in the type of body attachment. Silicone and polyurethane liner systems are today one of the most frequently used prosthetic socket systems. The fixation takes place via a distal shaft lock or a knee-sleeve. Less frequently, lower leg prostheses are manufactured with a soft-walled shaft (soft socket). The fixation in these systems takes place by means of a knee-crossing condylar clip.

The necessary foot systems are selected as needed. Basically, a distinction is made between the lower leg prosthesis and the prosthesis with thigh sleeve and lateral joint splints. This is used almost exclusively for extreme short stumps, knee problems or sports prostheses.

A relatively lightweight prosthesis is made of carbon fiber laminate for physiological, dynamic performance transmission. Physiological support and bedding of the stump, individual color and shape design, easy handling and care. Stiffening the ankle reduces pressure on the remaining forefoot / hindfoot (increased walking performance).

Reconstruction of the foot after amputation (level Chopart, Transkalkaneal = Pirogoff-Spitzy-amputation and level OSG = Syme-amputation)

Arm prostheses are aids that replaced a missing upper extremity body part. This can be a cosmetic finger prosthesis or as much as a fully functional forearm prosthesis with an elbow joint. Our prosthetic upper limb solutions are produced based on the existing conditions.
